Introducing Annette

Originally from Sri-Lanka, I am married with four adult children and have lived in Australia for over 38 years. My husband is from Czech Republic and I have visited this beautiful country several times. All our four children grew up appreciation the richness of our both cultures as well as embracing the Australian values and beliefs.
My professional qualifications include a Bachelor of Adult Vocational and Training, Bachelor of Social Work, nursing qualification and a Master of Social Work from Griffith University, Monash University and University of Queensland. I have also attained my qualification in the Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training and have successfully completed the compulsory nationally recognised accreditation unit required for registration as a civil marriage celebrant.
I am currently studying in a Graduate Diploma in Buddhist Psychotherapy and Counselling, My reason for this commitment is purely to gain a better understanding of myself and my personal growth.
I have had extensive experiences working for the Queensland State Government in careers ranging from being an educator, social worker, principal teacher, Bi-lingual cultural consultant mental health social worker, programs manager, university lecturer, Child Safety manager , Manager in Mullticultural services and director in various departments such as Health, Education, Vocational Training and Child Safety.
I personally believe my role as the Marriage Celebrant to be an honourable service to the community. This is s very privileged and responsible role. I take my role as the marriage celebrant very seriously and ensure that my couple feel heard, valued and special on their wedding day!
